The problem
A cream three-section curved bouclé sofa on the Lower East Side with a few stains the owner couldn't trace to a source. Unknown-origin marks are a little trickier — the right approach depends on what caused a stain, so with no history it's assessed carefully and expectations kept realistic. Bouclé's looped weave also shows every mark and tends to pill with everyday use.
What we did
This was handled as a delicate job, not a heavy one — bouclé's loops can distort or fuzz if treated roughly, so the cleaning was kept gentle and matched to the fabric, with careful work on the marks. The de-pilling here was a small add-on, not part of the base clean: only the sides of the armrests, where the loops had started to fuzz, were shaved smooth — not the whole sofa.
The result
The sofa came out clean and even across all three sections — the stains lifted well and the bouclé looked fresh and uniform again. Unknown-origin stains can be unpredictable, so this is a stronger result than can be promised in advance, which is why the outcome is shown honestly rather than guaranteed. Pricing on this job was $260 for the cleaning plus a $60 de-pilling add-on done only on the armrest sides. If you're in Manhattan, see our couch & sofa cleaning in Manhattan.
